Courtnie Wittkopf is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, as well as the co-founder of Peak Recovery & Wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Counseling from East Texas A&M University.
Courtnie brings a unique insider perspective shaped by experience across multiple levels of care, including boutique-style residential treatment centers, outpatient programs and sober living environments. Her understanding of addiction is informed not only by clinical training, but also by lived experience within her family of origin and as the spouse of someone in recovery. She was raised around hardworking men who were expected to provide and remain steady under pressure, while valuing responsibility, leadership, and protection of their families. This perspective shapes her approach to healing and change, honoring both strength and vulnerability. Courtnie approaches individuals and their loved ones with empathy and directness, supporting meaningful change across the entire system.
Courtnie specializes in supporting clients through the complex challenges of active addiction, early sobriety, and long-term recovery. She also works closely with couples navigating the impact of betrayal, addiction, communication breakdowns, and attachment wounds. Her therapeutic approach integrates attachment-based therapy with techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), creating a balanced process of deep emotional healing and practical skills-building. By uncovering how early experiences shape present-day patterns, Courtnie helps clients develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen relationships. At Peak Recovery & Wellness, she is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where clients can rise above old patterns, recover their sense of self, and reclaim a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

David brings a grounded insider perspective shaped by experience across multiple levels of care, including boutique-style residential treatment centers, outpatient programs, and sober living environments. His understanding of addiction and recovery is informed not only by clinical training, but also by lived experience, having completed long-term residential treatment in his mid-twenties and sustaining long-term recovery. This combination allows him to approach his work with credibility, humility, and deep respect for the complexity of change. David often works with those who have learned to survive through self-reliance, even when that strength has come at a personal cost.
David specializes in supporting individuals across all stages of recovery. He also works with clients navigating relationship challenges, low self-worth, and patterns rooted in early life experiences, helping them understand how core beliefs, past dynamics, and a sense of belonging influence present-day choices.
His therapeutic approach is grounded in Adlerian therapy, emphasizing personal responsibility, social connection, and the development of meaning and purpose. By exploring the “why” behind behavior and helping clients make sense of their life story, David supports insight-driven, sustainable change that aligns with each client’s values and goals.
